Tartaric Acid is a substance that is often used in the food industry and that we also use in natural dyeing as an assistant to alum in the mordanting process. Its low pH content helps to preserve the natural characteristics of the wool during hot mordant. It also has the property of uniforming the color.

Chemical formula: C4H6O6
Amount: available in bags of 100gr, 500gr and 1Kg.

News!We now have an online mini-course available to teach you how to scour, mordant and finish textile fibers for Natural Dyeing!

These procedures are fundamental for your dyeing to have good results, uniform and vibrant colors and good resistance to light and washing.

Our course includes lessons for protein and cellulosic fibers, namely wool, silk, cotton and linen. Fibers can be dyed in a variety of ways, such as loose fiber, yarn, fabric, and even finished garments.
