This workshop will be guided by Alice Bernardo and was designed for those who want to take the first steps in dyeing with Indigo in an organic way and for those looking to have a solid base for their work with this mysterious blue.

The workshop content is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to dye with indigo in all kinds of fibers or materials: cotton, wool, linen, silk, yarn, fabric or finished pieces and even paper!

This edition will be broadcast live from the Saber Fazer workshop through the Zoom platform. During the workshop, questions may be asked and communication will be carried out just like in our face-to-face workshops. During the workshop, participants will be able to carry out the process of creating the indigo vat at home simultaneously, or they will be able to watch and experiment later in their own time.

This workshop includes sending the Indigo Initiation Manual to the participant's home in Portugal. If the participant is in another country, the manual can be sent in PDF.

As usual, with our online workshops, we offer the possibility to purchase the material kit that includes all the consumables you will need during and after the workshop.
If you already have some of the materials and don't need the complete kit, you can order just the materials you need through the shop. Please check the material list below and if you have any questions, please contact us.

Our kit includes the following materials:

- White cotton fabric
- Indigo pigment (20gr)
- Henna (100gr)
- Fructose (100gr)
- Soda carbonate (100gr)
-  Calcium Hydroxide (100gr)
- pH strips

We offer the possibility of having a post-workshop follow-up where you can clarify the doubts that inevitably arise when you start dyeing. This follow-up will be a zoom meeting of about 40mn that will be scheduled according to your availability.

Day: 12th March 2022 (Sunday);
Schedule: 9.30-13h
Location: The workshop will be online, in real time, through the Zoom platform. Each participant will receive a link and password so that they can join us in the workshop on the scheduled day and time. If you need help or have questions, don't hesitate to contact us.

Just select whether or not you want to include the material kit and post-workshop follow-up, add the workshop to your cart and complete your purchase.
Your registration will be confirmed only after payment has been made.

In this workshop, we will start by learning more about this pigment, some of the different plants that produce it and its chemistry, an essential part so that one can effectively understand how indigo works and how it can be manipulated.

We will learn about the different types of indigo vats that exist and learn to assemble a dyeing vat completely organic, a sustainable alternative to chemical vats in which substances harmful to the environment are used, such as sodium hydrosulfite and others. We will also talk about another essential point for successful dyeing: the preparation of the fabrics before dyeing and their post-dyeing.o.

Each participant can create their vat simultaneously with us and this workshop includes an exclusive Indigo Dyeing Tutorial.

- Introduction to indigo blue: plants, pigment and chemistry
- Preparation of fabrics for dyeing with indigo
- Creation of an organic indigo dyeing vat without chemicals)
- Dye with indigo
- Maintenance of an indigo vat

This workshop includes sending the Initiation Manual to indigo to the participant's home in Portugal. If the participant is in another country, the manual can be sent in PDF.

Optionally, we create a material kit very complete that can be purchased at the time of registration and that will be sent by registered mail together with the Indigo Manual.
