Ceramics workshop for children and families
Ceramics workshop for children and families
Couldn't load pickup availability
This activity is a hands-on introduction to ceramics, inviting children to explore clay and its creative possibilities. During the session we will make a musical object: a maraca. Building it will teach us how to handle, model and paint clay. At the end, participants can take home the objects they have made.
We want children of all ages to be able to try ceramics and make something that excites them, with excellent guidance. For that reason, in this workshop the youngest children must be accompanied by an adult and will work on their piece together. It is a chance to share a learning experience as a family.
Notes:
- Once finished, the pieces have to dry and go through the subsequent firings (carried out by the tutor), so they take around 15 days to be ready for collection.
- We recommend wearing old clothes or an apron if you would rather not get dirty.
Tutor: Ana Cristina Valquaresma
Who it is for: children aged 6 and over. An adult must be present for children up to the age of 8. For older children an adult is not required, but they are welcome to do the workshop together if both wish.
