Family workshop: Wool, from sheep to yarn
Family workshop: Wool, from sheep to yarn
On November 28, this family workshop offers a practical introduction to the wool cycle, from sheep to yarn.
During the session, adults and children will learn more about sheep, the characteristics of wool, and the steps involved in transforming this fibre into yarn. Washing, carding, and spinning are covered using the tools specific to this craft, such as cards and spinning wheels. At the end, each family will take home a small display of the different stages of wool processing.
This workshop is part of the series of craft-focused activities promoted by the Almeida Garrett Library throughout 2026, in partnership with Saber Fazer.
