Madder is a herbaceous plant of the Rubiaceae family whose root, which contains alizarin, is historically used in natural dyeing to dye colors within the red range.
This maddrer belongs to the Rubia tinctorum variety, which gives us cooler reds than Rubia cordifolia (more orangey reds).
Recommendations
To dye 100g of fibers red, we recommend using 50g of powdered roots. Using the same bath, you can obtain progressively lighter tones until the bath runs out.
