Raw fleece from shearing a herd of native Churra Mondegueira ewes in Marialva. The wool selection was carried out by Alice Bernardo. These fleeces are whole, rolled up, having just been trimmed after shearing. They have an average weight of 3 kg. The wool, of the churra type, is known for being the wool with the most primitive characteristics among all Portuguese breeds, with long and thick locks. The fleeces of Churras Mondegueiras are double-layer fleeces. This wool is thick and challenging, being suitable for creating exuberant pieces that take advantage of long locks, such as full felted fleeces.
